This 8-inch skillet is part of the Berndes SignoCast Classic line. SignoCast Classic cookware is manufactured using vacuum-pressure casting. High-grade aluminum alloys are melted and forced into a mold, ensuring the absence of air bubbles and resulting in a thick base, thin sides, no interior rivets, lightweight construction, and a perfectly flat bottom that never warps. The aluminum base delivers excellent heat distribution and is perfect for gas, electric, and ceramic stovetops.

The cookware's interior and exterior nonstick surfaces ensure easy cleanup and the coating is guaranteed to never chip, crack, peel, blister, or come off. The nonstick surface allows the user to cook by adding little or no fat. Berndes does nonstick right--in 1975, DuPont and Berndes were the first companies to launch nonstick cookware in Europe. Users are not recommended to use metal utensils or dishwashers with SignoCast Classic cookware.

The knobs and ergonomically designed handles stay cool on the stovetop and are oven-safe to 450 degrees F.

I just ordered my second ...
I know kitchens -- I worked as a short-order cook for years.

This is a quality piece of cookware. Decent weight, well-machined. Berndes' non-stick coating is, for me, the standard against which I compare all others (and it's the only non-stick cookware I've ever been happy with). We've had the first pan for a year or three, and my wife still hasn't managed to destroy it. Yet.

For me, a HUGE plus (and what makes the purchase a no-brainer) is that there are no rivets inside the pan. (IMHO, rivets have no business on the inside of any pan -- makes cooking & clean-up more work.)

It's quite simply a flawless omelet pan. I've not used anything better at any price.

Best Omelette Pan in the World
This 8"-inch skillet is the BEST for making omelettes that brown nicely. The skillet has the best non-stick finish I've ever cooked with, and the weight of the pan and balance of the handle make it easy to move around while making omelettes. The non-stick finish still looks brand new after a year of heavy use.

Berndes cookwear is the GREATEST. When my children get married, this is the cookwear I'll encourage them to buy.

Excellent skillet
I bought this to replace the same skillet I had purchased about 5 years ago--it was finally beginning to lose some of its non-stick covering. It is an excellent skillet, and I am very pleased that there is a matching glad lid available--something that I have found otherwise impossible to find for 8" non-stick skillets.
